"Wenn alles schief geht, gibt es immer noch den Görli"

For my photo project IBRA BOUBA MUSA, I accompanied Africans, who spend day after day in

Görlitzer Park, in Berlin, in order to work and/or simply hang out with the like-minded people. The majority of the Africans are refugees - people who came to Germany and Berlin, and who ended up in Görlitzer park. They hoped for a better life, dignity and security. For most of them, however, that hope has not been fulfilled.

Görlitzer Park in Berlin, also known as one of the biggest drug dealing places in Germany, has become a meeting place for Africans and first contact point for newcomers. There they have managed to create a living space for themselves, a place that means more than just a good place to deal in drugs.
